Carissa
carandas which is name known to very few is a berry sized fruit and it
is used in indian spices pickles and chutneys.It is a citrus fruit.If
you are wondering what am i taking about, its karonda, known to most of
the Indians.It is a tangy citrus fruit and it is mostly used in
combination of green chillies.
Karonde and green chilli is a very tasty and spicy dish with a tangy flavour which just melts in the mouth.
This fruits also aids in bad digestion and constipation issues.It is also a cure for anemeia.And the best part is that it is very low in calories.
INGREDIENTS
Take karondas in a bowl and wash them in running water
Halve the karondas vertically and remove the seeds
Take green chillies and wash them properly
Cut the green chillies in small pieces.(You can keep the size of green chillies according to you)
In a frying pan, heat mustard oil and add cumin seeds.
Then add the karondas and chillies and add the salt
Now cook for 5 minutes and keep stiring in between.
When they are half cooked add corinder powder and red chilli powder
Now cook for another 3-4 minutes.
Remove from the fire and do remember that you to keep karondas and green chillies on low flame.
Your yummy dish is ready
You can eat them with chapati, rice or anything you want.
